We’re very proud to announce the debut of the CINEMATHEQUE, a free weekly film screening program, each Tuesday evening at 6 pm in our Community Room, beginning in January. On January 28, we are watching the classic “Casablanca”. In this 1942 film, a world-weary expatriate runs a nightclub in Morocco during WWII, a haven for refugees seeking escape from war. But when a former lover and her husband show up, he faces heartbreak and an excruciating decision to make.

Cinematheque is the latest offering to the community from the library, an institution committed to providing more such cultural programming going forward. The Cinematheque seeks to both entertain and illuminate with our selection of films – as expansive as we can make it, everything from classics to indies to foreign to mainstream Hollywood. Come join us for movies on the big screen, in surround sound, with freshly-popped popcorn and drinks freely available, and stick around for some lively discussion after.
