“In Harvest, Horan embarks upon a serendipitous journey across America to work the harvests of more than a dozen essential or unusual food crops—and, in the process, forms powerful connections with the farmers, the soil, and the seasons.”

Richard Horan is also the author of the novels, Life in the Rainbow, and Goose Music, which Larry McMurtry called, “funny, moving, convincing, original.”

His first non-fiction book, Seeds: One Man’s Journey to Find America’s Literary Trees, was published by Harper Collins in 2011.

In praise of Harvest, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Ted Morgan, wrote, “Richard Horan has brought us a welcome view of America to defy the prevailing political and financial nastiness. This is a timely and important book.”
