Are you watching Wolf Hall: The Mirror & the Light on PBS Masterpiece? The long-awaited series is an adaptation of The Mirror & the Light, the third book of Hilary Mantel's award-winning trilogy about the rise and fall of Thomas Cromwell. Cromwell was a low-born commoner (the son of a blacksmith) who rose to become the closest adviser to Henry VIII - and helped make the case for the execution of Henry's second wife, Anne Boleyn.
If you're intrigued by the treacherous court of Tudor England and are interested in hearing more about these characters and their times, we have lots of books you can read and/or listen to. Of course we have all three of Mantel's trilogy, which starts with Wolf Hall and continues in Bring Up The Bodies. But we also have many other books, both fiction and nonfiction, that tell the stories of that time.
