Key West Summer Reading Programs

Summer Reading is your gateway to a Universe of Stories. Go beyond your world and reach for the moon during library events. Grab a Reading Log and set your own goals each week to win prizes.

Read at your own pace wherever you’re most comfortable. This summer we’re challenging kids and teens to reach for the moon by reading books, attending events, and winning fabulous prizes at different branch locations.

Explore space and the world around us during free special events and workshops in our libraries all throughout the summer. Each event encourages babies, children, teens and adults to read (or be read to!) throughout the summer.

How can you support the Summer Reading Program?

Volunteer! Teens and adults can volunteer at local branches all year round. Help us at least two hours per week by:

  • Being friendly, approachable, and proactive.
  • Encouraging library visitors of all ages to join in the Summer Reading fun!
  • Answering questions about the Summer Reading Program and giving out prizes to participants.
  • Assisting library staff with crafts and special events.
