National Reading Month & Dr. Seuss’ Birthday
March is National Reading Month and we’re starting the celebration off with a virtual birthday party! Not just anyone’s birthday party but Dr. Seuss’s birthday!
Theodor Seuss Geisel wrote some of the world’s most famous books like, Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, and How the Grinch stole Christmas. Dr. Seuss books are great for reading aloud for anyone of any age! Children love to hear the playful language and rhymes of his books. Kick-off National Reading Month by celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd. Check out a Dr. Seuss book from one of our branches and spend the day reading.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”- Dr. Seuss
Looking for other ways to celebrate? Have fun in the kitchen with your child and serve up some green eggs and ham or make a tasty Thing one and Thing two cupcakes! Enjoy your snacks as you read aloud.
Check out Dr. Seuss books in our catalog and on Overdrive
