Saturday Movies in September
It’s movie time at the Islamorada Library branch every Saturday in September, each showing tied to a notable day.
We’ll start out at noon on September 7 with Coco (PG), to celebrate Grandparents Day. This 2017 animated film from Disney/Pixar is the story of aspiring musician Miguel. When he is confronted with his family’s ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.
At noon on September 14, we’ll celebrate Video Game Day with Ready Player One (PG-13). This 2018 film is set in 2045: When the creator of a virtual reality called the OASIS dies, he makes a posthumous challenge to all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune and control of his world.
On September 21, we’ll celebrate Batman Day with – what else? – an all-day marathon of Batman: The Animated Series (TV-PG). This show ran from 1992-1995.
And on September 28, we’ll wrap it up with another all-day marathon for Comic Book Day – this time with Superman: The Animated Series (TV-PG), which ran from 1996-2000.
See you at the movies … at the Library!
