We’ve had a blast in our first month of the CINEMATHEQUE, looking back at some classics of the ’40s. But with February being Black History Month, we’re going to fast forward a bit to the 1960s and the theme of “We Shall Overcome, Kinda”.
On February 18, we’ll be screening “The Best of Enemies.” In 1971 Durham, NC, civil rights activist Ann Atwater faces off against C.P. Ellis, the popular Exalted Cyclops of the Ku Klux Klan, over the issue of school integration, and an unlikely friendship ensues. Freshly popped popcorn and a lively discussion await, so join us!
