The Libby App allows you to borrow ebooks and audiobooks using your library card from the Monroe County Public Library System. Stop by the Islamorada Library on Tuesday, May 23 between 2:00 and 4:30 pm with your library card, smartphone, laptop or e-reading device to learn more.

UF/IFAS, Monroe County Extension Service offers free plant clinics. Master Gardener Volunteers will be onsite the first Wednesday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to help assist with plant identification, disease diagnosis, insect identifications/problems, and other services related to diagnosing gardening and/or landscape problems.

Counselor Beth Dunlap, RN is here with advice, free products and plans to help you quit smoking. Sponsored by AHEC (Area Health Education Center).
Tools to Quit is a group designed to address all aspects of nicotine addiction, in addition to helping people develop a quit plan and identify a quit date. Free nicotine replacement is available/provided to address a person’s physical dependence to tobacco. Studies show that group counseling combined with nicotine replacement can more than double a person’s chances of quitting and staying quit. Led by Beth Dunlap, RN.

Stop in for help downloading library apps to your smart phone or tablet. Learn how to download ebooks and audiobooks, and learn how to stream movies from Kanopy too. Basic computer help is also available. Bring your device and questions. Instruction may be one-on-one or group depending on the number of participants.

Join us the first Thursday afternoon of each month February through May and August through November for Great Decisions: America’s largest discussion program on world affairs. The program provides background information and policy options for the most critical issues facing America each year and serves as the focal text for discussion groups across the country.
Attendees are encouraged to visit the library to read the Great Decisions Briefing article prior to the scheduled event. At the event, we’ll watch a 20 minute video about the topic in the Library’s Community Room then break up into small discussion groups to discuss the most critical global issues facing America today.
